About Us

We are an outreach branch of the University of Tennessee, providing services and opportunities to the residents of Hancock County.

We are funded through a cooperative agreement between federal, state and county governments. All of our programs are offered to all eligible persons regardless of race, color, age, national origin, sex or disability and we are an Equal Opportunity Employer.

Hancock County is located in East Tennessee and is known for it’s Melungeon history. Sneedville is the county seat of Hancock County. Hancock County has a population of 6,549 (2018) with 223 square miles and has several outlying communities including Alanthus Hill, Kyles Ford, Mulberry Gap, Treadway/Thorn Hill, and Xenophon (all unincorporated).
